After Constantine I was killed by Viking raiders, his younger brother, Áed was crowned King.
Fortunately for Áed, Viking activity has calmed down a bit, but unfortunately, the whole tanistry system that Donald I put in place didn’t work out too well for him.
In 878, just one year into his reign, he was slain by Giric who thought that he would be better suited as king.
Áed ruled for around one year, and there is little known about him.
